03Workshop

Every joint,made by hand.

Our frames are made in our own workshop in Utrecht. This is what goes into a single corner.

  1. 01Solid hardwood

    68 × 114 mm

    FSC certified, dried slowly and planed to 68 by 114 millimeters.

  2. 02Mortise and tenon

    ± 0.2 mm

    Cut to two tenths of a millimeter, so the joint closes by hand.

  3. 03Glued and pinned

    Oak dowel

    Waterproof glue and an oak dowel through the joint. It will not move for fifty years.

  4. 04Glazed and sealed

    HR++ glass

    HR++ glass set into the rebate on a bed of sealant, then three coats of paint.
